Promoting a Safer Church

Immanuel Church Bodmin is committed to honouring God by creating a culture of protecting children, vulnerable adults and one another. We want to be a church where caring for one another through good safeguarding practice is second nature to all.

You can read our Safeguarding Policy here.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those visiting for the first time, so that you know beforehand what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday meeting starting at 10:45am. We recommend arriving a little  early to ensure you get a parking space! When you arrive, you'll be greeted by someone from our Welcome Team.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our Sunday meetings are informal and include songs, prayers, Bible teaching and news about what's going on in the life of the church.  We normally finish at around 12.30 and then there's time to chat over tea, coffee and biscuits. There's also always an opportunity to request prayer and ask any questions.

What About My Children?

We welcome children of all ages - here's what we provide on a Sunday morning:

  • Creche (0 months to 3 years). Children under 6 months are very welcome but must be accompanied by their parent/carer at all times. We have an area adjoining the main hall, with seating, toys and a sound link so that parents/carers can hear what is going on in the main meeting.
  •  Sunday Club (key stage 1&2, 3-11 years). This group meets in a separate room with space for all the fun activities that the children get involved in. Each parent/carer must register children for Sunday Club at the start and pick them up at the end.
  •  Young people (key stage 3 and above, 11+ years). Young people stay in the main meeting.

Children stay with their parent or carer at the start of the service for the welcome, songs, prayers and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. Someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy.

Sunday Club activities usually include, bible stories, music, prayer, craft, drama and fun games. Please pick your children up as soon as the main meeting finishes.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to hear Bible teaching and meet new people, we encourage those who regularly come to Immanuel Church Bodmin, to join a small group - as part of one of our small groups you support each other and grow in your Christian faith. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Please contact us if you'd like to join a group.

Serving and Volunteering

We also encourage those who are part of Immanuel Church Bodmin to get involved in the life of the church by serving on a team and volunteering in our various community activities - find out more about our church life and community life.
